April, 2003
Hello Everyone,
Well we
are all very excited about the upcoming month. There are so many
great opportunities for training, sharing and spreading the art
of Modern Farang Mu Sul®. It all kicks off with our Black Belt
Summit Camp followed by the 4th annual Warrior Quest. With so many
of our representatives in from out of town (and out of state for
that matter), it has the makings for a very memorable weekend.
Down the
pipe, is the much anticipated European Expedition. This year we
include a visit to Portugal thanks to Pinto Lee (aka Instructor
Pinto). Deutschland
is our first stop, with Master Wachsmann and crew, where we plan
on enjoying our favorite brotwurst (sausage), bier (beer) and, oh
yeah, the first European Black Belt Summit Meeting and Cross Fighting
Seminar. Working our way down to finer weather, we'll be making
seminar stops in Madrid and Lisbon. (Note to self, check into training
on the beach.)
On a personal
note, I'd like to say how much I look forward to seeing you all
this month of May. It, much like the season of Spring itself, is
filled with so much budding energy. Those of you who participate
in the true warrior spirit, with your heart full and your mind open
make this art as special as it is and so worthwhile. I benefit from
your diligence and enthusiasm. Thank you to all of you for your
contributions of time, honor and dedication.
Also,
let us all send huge congratulations to Inst. Chris Mague and Reiko
Mague, way out in Japan, on their recent new arrival: Alexander
Ryu Mague. Too cute! How does it feel to be a proud parent?
Congratulations
also go to Inst. Chris Knight of the Spokane, Wa. branch, on their
recent demo, and color belt testings! We now have our first brown
belt in Spokane. That's
just awesome! I am very proud of all of you.
Last month
we had the opportunity once again to do some great training with
Kaiso Bendigkeit. He sponsored Grand Master Nes Hernandez to do
some of his Philipino Martial Arts Weapons.
I also want
to congratulate Inst. Pinto and all of the Portuguese FMS family
on their recent success at the World Cup 2003 Championships in Lisbon.
They
entered and were victorious in several divisions, also Inst. Pinto
performed a dazzling demonstration, that left the crowd wanting
more. Great work! Way to "represent" and make us all proud.
Keep it up!
On a last
note, for those that haven't checked out the new Europe / German
FMS links on our site, go to:
http://www.farangmusul.com/Instructors05.htm
http://www.farangmusul.com/GermanyInfoa.htm
There is
tons of information and great pictures with a timeline that describes
the introduction and evolution of Hwa Rang Do and Modern Farang
Mu Sul® into Europe and Germany in particular.
OK, that's
all for now. With brotherhood,
Kuk Sa De Alba
