September, 2003
Hello Everyone,
Well, is
it me, or is this year just flying by? So much has taken place,
and sometimes we feel as though we have only scratched the surface
of our set goals. But that is OK. This is what keeps us moving forward.
First of
all, huge congratulations to the Spokane, WA Modern Farang Mu Sul®
school on their new location. The address is:
2128
N. Pines #5N
Spokane
Valley WA 99206
( 509
) 924 - KICK (
5425 )
It's located
in the Spokane Valley at Pines and Mansfield behind the 7-Eleven.
Directly north and east of the Pines Freeway Overpass. They
also have a new website. The web address is:
www.spiritmartialarts.net
We are planning
a visit up to the great North West for the grand opening of the
new school in Spokane...I can't wait..
We are on
the crossroads to yet another mild-stone in Modern Farang Mu Sul®
history... Inst. Larry Saindon from the Huntington Beach academy
is in the process of preparing 2 young ladies for their Jr. Black
Belt in this art. They are Asst. Inst. Cassie Van Doren and Asst.
Inst. Nicole Miller. This marks the first time a Jr. Black Belt
will be (hopefully) achieved, also, they would be the first females
to do so. How exciting!!! To help out the cause, Inst. Saindon has
both brought myself down to Huntington Beach several times, and
also coordinated a "road trip" for the candidates along
with some of their family members up here to the romance capitol
of the world: San Francisco....OK, you get the idea. We have had
some great, intense black belt prep training, and also performed
demos and a fantastic seminar / picnic with all the young students
down in Huntington Beach. What a blast! The actual test is scheduled
for November 22, 2003..........I can't wait...
The East
Coast FMS Crew recently had Asst. Inst. Stuart McCalla (from SF-WHQ)
pay them a visit during a trip out East. He took part in several
classes, demos and still managed to squeeze in some fun as well.
(I think they sandbagged him...ha.ha) Also on the agenda was to
finalize the plans for my upcoming trip next month to the East Coast.
On tap we are planning seminars, testing and some sightseeing too....I
can't wait...
I recently
received news from the Portugal FMS group. Inst. Pinto is keeping
a very busy schedule, with many seminars and demonstrations exposing
Modern Farang Mu Sul® all over Portugal, from Lisbon to Coimbra
(very north of Portugal). Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward
to next year's visit to Europe.
Speaking
of next years' visit, I not only, spoke with Inst. Pinto from Portugal,
but also recently conversed with Asst. Inst. Hohne from Germany
and Inst. Furdyna from Poland about the plans for next years' trip
to Europe. We are not only planning some great training and seminars
again, but also an international Black Sash / Black Belt testing.
We are hoping to have several students from Europe and the U.S.
going for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th Dan. WOW.....I can't wait...
Lots of
activity for Modern Farang Mu Sul®...stay tuned.
OK, that's
all for now. With brotherhood,
Kuk Sa De Alba
